Oh What a Night

Wow.

I began my night on the train to my friends condo downtown. When I got off the train it was at a platform I was unfamiliar with and I ended up wandering around for about 15 minutes until my friends called and said they could see my from there balcony...they are on the 29th floor! Finally I made it up to the place where we sat and had some drinks before getting to our event.

We are all first year students at Humber for fashion arts. We all love the program and were eagerly awaiting this night, the final fashion show production done by the second (and final) year students. The theme tonight was 'go beyond the dream'.

We took a cab down to the location and we're immediatly impressed by the elegant venue. The bathrooms had the coolest couches... Everywhere they had colored lights and glowing dancers to evoke a mysterious forest mood.

There was even this adorable bar tender who broke a glass trying to impress me with his moves. Of course I had to give him my number.

Then the show began. The first few collections were lovely. Great prints and shapes. But the final collection was done by a creative genius named Stephan Caras'. I was blow away by the incredible silhouettes and embellishment on his garments. One dress, of a silky cream material, had a sleeve that was a full vertical extention of the dress and had a wired hem that gave it a flowing circular shape. It was breathtaking.

After the show I networked with some of the professions that teach this fashion show class. I am determined to be the head of the show next year and make it even better.
Overall it was a great night. As I ran to catch my train to get home I realized (once I stopped on the platform) I was standing beside this adorable guy...we had a great conversation on the train. You don't even have to extend the relationship beyond that because sometimes it feels right to just leave it at a nice memory. And that is how I felt about tonight, it will be a nice memory.

The photos below are my friends and I in the bathroom mirror and then me on the train to her place.
